I have recently started to bake more and more, so I jumped at the chance to appear on junior bake off. I am going to be blogging a lot now and keeping you up to date with how I'm doing in my effort to be accepted on the show! I am starting a Sunday baking routine meaning that every Sunday I learn a new baking skill, and we have something good to eat.
Today I made simple buns but I added a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and a whole lemons zest to my mixture and then placed some lemon curd inside each cake and put them in the oven for about 12 minuets. Immediately after taking them out the oven I added lemon sprinkles on top for decoration though I made them again I would drizzle a watery lemon icing over the cakes to help the sprinkles set.
Next Sunday I am going to make cinnamon pastries though my pastry will be shop bought for it is not a required skill to make puff pastry. This is an easy challenge but it is all about the skill. Though its may not make it to the show this is a great experience and if I work hard enough maybe I will be the next junior baker🍪

Good Times
I haven't blogged in ages so i have lots to tell you!
I am about to start back at school so I'm a tiny bit nervous, but I haven't had time to think about it because I've been on a fab holiday in Portugal! We had loads of fun swimming at the pools and cooling ourselves in our privet plunge pool, along with days at the beach splashing in the sea! To finish off the holiday we went to a fun water park and enjoyed whizzing down the slides. On the final day the temperature was nearly 40 degrees! We were glad to go, it was just to hot.

Sunday
Today I had an early start as me and my mum planned to go down the road to see the Olympic flame. My alarm went off at 7:30am, but I slept in until quater to 8! Unfortunately so did my mum, so we had to gulp down our cups of tea, and take our croissants with us! When we got there, there were lots of people gathered around and we could only just see the road. Then we were joined by my teacher (who is friends with my mum) and her family who took us down the road to a quieter spot. All of a sudden the crouds moved forwards so we were stood in the middle of the road. First the police motor bikes came, then the busses carrying more runners, next the busses with lots of people in matching outfits who were singing and dancing, and finally the man who was carrying the flame.
It felt like a very long day after our early start, and I managed to get a lot done. I made lots of girls out of shrinkies and baked them all in the oven. They are now really tiny, there are 30 in total. None of them are real people, just imaginary figures. I plan to make 30 more for my class as a leavers present, but these will be of them.
Tonight I started to watch the England Vs Italy game but I was to tired to watch the whole match so I came upstairs to blog.
There are lots more but it would take HOURS to photograph them all, the ones I've selected are some of my favorites!

Back in Business
I haven't blogged for such a long time!
I have been practising LOADS for the school production, and for the annual summer soiree.
Last time I blogged I was sizzling in the sun, but now I'm cooped up indoors hiding from the rain. It's mid- summer! What's going on?
A few days ago it was my brothers 9th birthday. He got lots of presents including a hamster called Reg. He had a chocolate cake and some plain buns, on top of the cake were some fondant uglydolls. Uglydolls are cute figures and toys with unusual names like Babo and Wage!
Unfortunately I haven't had much time to doodle, but while I was off school ill I coloured in a few of my old doodles.
I have recently read neverseconds blog, I found it really interesting and loved seeing how veg (the writer) could make so much difference!

Sizzling Sausages
Today was another sizzling hot day, first off the sun was sizzling, then Shortie (we couldn't even take him on a walk) then the sausages on the barbecue! Later on it got a bit TOO hot, so I went inside and played some music on my piccolo-which is like a miniture flute. Then I read a book from when I was younger, Malory Towers. I topped it all off by watching some old episods of Tracy Beaker and doodling in my pad, nothing turned out very well so I gave up and began chatting to my friends online.

Summer Days
Since the weekend it has been boiling hot, the sun has been out and shone down on us. Every day I'm playing sports in the garden and eating ice cream and ice lollies! Also this week we found out what parts we would be playing in the production at school. The play is called Hoodwinked, and it is a version of Robin Hood, I will be playing the part of Maid Marian.
Also at school we wore red, white and blue to celebrate the Queens diamond jubilee, in the morning we decorated cakes and plates ready for our street party in the afternoon. The street party was held in the playground where bunting and balloons were hung. We ate our cakes and had some refreshing drinks. Now it's the whit holiday!! Yippee

Busy Bee
This week has been SO busy!
Everyday it has been tests, tests, tests, and for me there's still one more. Today I went to a collagraphy challenge day at a local school, here we created our own collages made from all diiferent materials and arranged them in the shape of a fish. When we had added all our layers, we coverd it in a special substance which made it waterproof. When it was dry we inked all over it in colours we'd mixed ourselves. Next we put our fish into a printing machine, where our desgine was printed onto special paper- 30% paper, and 70% cotton. When it came out our fish was looking great, and there was even extra time so we could have another go. This time we inked our fish in a different colour and printed it on fabric. At the end of the day we got to take our prints and collages home to share with our families.
Also this week I had a go on Brushes, an app on my mums Ipad which alows you to create pictures with differnt tools an devery colour under the sun. At the time it wasn't going to be more than a doodle, but I liked it a lot so I decided to give it to my step grandma as a birthday present!
